OPs remit $1.93bn during last month

KARACHI: Overseas Pakistani workers remitted US $ 1929.76 million in the first month (July) of FY19 as compared with US$1541.67 million received during the same period in the preceding year, says a Press release.

During July 2018, the inflow of worker’s remittances amounted to US $ 1929.76 million, which is 21.03% more than June 2018 and 25.17 more than July 2017.

The country wise details for the month of July 2018 show that inflows from Saudi Arabia, UAE, USA, UK, GCC countries (including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman) and EU countries amounted to US$437.48 million, US$433.42 million, US$ 280.34 million, US$277.51 million, US$199.31 million and US$64.90 million respectively compared with the inflow of US$408.84 million, US$334.63 million, US$193.7 million, US$199.18 million, US$192.02 million and US$52.08 million respectively in July 2017. Remittances received from Malaysia, Norway, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Japan and other countries during July 2018 amounted to US$236.80 million together as against US$161.22 million received in July 2017.
